Our website photography
We are often asked about the beautiful Kansas scenes used throughout our website. At Westar, we're proud to be called Kansans, and we're proud of our state's diversity. The place we call home exhibits that diversity not only in our people, but also in our state's natural beauty. To celebrate that beauty, we are pleased to feature the work of photographer Scott Bean. A description appears below each of his photographs. Check back throughout the year for a fresh selection of seasonal images.
This scene in Wabaunsee County shows the classic shapes and contours of the Flint Hills and the bright, vibrant colors of the new grass after the recent spring burns.

Kansas has some amazing sunsets, and this particular sunset was especially striking reflected on the surface of Milford Lake.
Alcove Springs is a peaceful place, especially when the waterfall there is flowing. The history of the location combined with Alcove’s ties to the wagon trains headed west make it a place worth visiting.
Watching a sunrise in the Flint Hills of Geary County is not a bad way to start your day.
Driving the country roads of Kansas is a great way to experience the beauty that can be found across the state. This road in Riley County seems to go on forever in the distance.
The trees in this wooded area of Geary County took on a strong glow as they were backlit by the evening sun.
